Bio
Kate Voet is a Belgian script writer, script editor and film director based in Brussels, whose work revolves around identity, loss, the loneliness of the mind and the unreliability of memory. While bringing stories to life, she strongly focuses on the physicality of the characters and is interested in experimenting with narrative structure; intertwining imagination and reality. Having studied at the University of Brussels, LUCA School of Arts, the University of Amsterdam and the The New School University of NYC, she was trained very cross-disciplinary: in English literature and linguistics, theater & media studies, business management and film directing. She also took short courses in marketing at Central Saint Martins in London.
Currently she's writing her debut feature film "To Everything there is a Season” and is developing the animated, interactive VR experience "The Time of a Moment" together with life partner and co-director Victor Maes. Her short films "Les Homards Immortels" and "The Tears of Things" screened at many international film festivals, winning several awards along the way.
